Instructor¹s Notes in Preparing Assignments
A few of our classmates had the conversations with me recently. I thought their questions might help you to prepare our assignments. Here are they to share with you.
Q: I need some clarification on the data collection instrument. I focused on content, but I need to include WBI strategies and delivery technology. I'm not sure what sort of data I'm supposed to collect in relation to the strategies or data technology. And do these need a different instrument?
A: When we deliver content online, it is more than just about content. Instructional strategies and delivery technologies are critical as well. In fact, many forgot to assess strategies and technologies in addition to content. Here are the further information to help you to learn more about how to access delivery technology and integrate instructional strategies. How to assess technology & strategy
Our design document is a work in progress and a living document. While we developing and designing the unit, we need to go back to update and edit to make sure it is effective.
Q: Am I outlining 3 new lessons that relate to the original standards/objectives I posted in section 1.
A: Yes. You need to update your section 1 to reflect your better and more effective design. Please feel free to do so. This is a work in progress document. So often we can need to go back to update our designs to reflect better end products.
Q: Do they need any connection to the instructional strategies listed in the beginning of section 3?
A: Yes, they need to, so we have better alignment. It also helps us to complete the end product when we complete the design documents. Feel free to update your previous sections to reflect your new designs.
Q: Please explain exactly what we are needing to do for each section 2-4. What is the difference between questions is section 2 and 3? I feel I have already answered section 3 questions in my section 2, it seems repetitive to me. I already stated instructional strategies in section 2 and then section 3 asks to list instructional strategies??
A: Yes, we need to repeat the strategies identified in Section 2. But in Section 3, we need to make sure the integrated strategies support diversified learners. If yes, in what way these strategies support diversified learners. We need to provide more information and resources to support these applied strategies with more details. In Section 2, we did not justify from diversified learners aspect.
Q: From what I understand section 3 and 4 are to elaborate on the lesson we created in section 2, using the same objectives/goals is this correct?
A: Yes, this design document is a working and an aggregate document while we design it. Frequently, we may need to go back to update the previous sections while we are working in certain section. This is because while completing the design document, we see some designs may fit or some don't.
Q: If I am developing training for an organization, what happens if some learners do not have WBI experiences? Should I accommodate for this? Should I survey them first to see?
A: Before the instructions start, surveying them would be a good approach. If many don't have, one of things we could do is to keep the initial WBI simple and to help them to get familiar with WBI. Perhaps not to great these initial activities to ensure all participants have better understanding how WBI works and they know how to prepare themselves for WBI.
